About Us
Arctic Refrigeration was established in 1947 by brothers Henry and Leo Mager. In 1977, after much growth, Arctic became incorporated and moved the operation to its present location at 26 Cedar Street in Batavia. Over the next 8 years, Henry's three sons (Richard, Michael, and William) joined the business to help with the growth and future of the company.
When Henry and Leo "retired" in 1988 and 1991 respectively the three sons took on the roles of corporate officers and operators. Soon after his "retirement" Henry's daughter Teresa took the position of Office Manager becoming the fourth of Henry's six children to take on the family business.
Since the beginning, Arctic has grown by leaps and bounds expanding into vegetable storages, restaurant equipment, commercial refrigeration and ventilation, residential and commercial heating & cooling plus so much more.
In Early 2004 Arctic brought in the third generation of the Mager family. Justing, the son of William began learning the family business and became a certified installer and team leader. In 2008, William's youngest son Jonathan also joined the team as a project-coordinator & estimator.
In August of 2009, the Mager family and Arctic Refrigeration mourned the loss of founder, father and grandfather, Henry Mager. Looking forward, Arctic promises to uphold the same commitment and principles that Henry instilled for 63 years. His legacy will continue to live on for generations.
